Park[ing] Day LA - Tomorrow!

Park[ing] Day LA update:

LIST OF PARKS:
The Park[ing] Day LA map is filling up and it looks great! Lots of exciting and creative parks and great messages! Here is the list of all the parks that you can easily print out and take with you on your Park[ing] Tour:

So far, AP and ABC have indicated that they will be out with photographers and reporters so have your message ready! Watch for John Klemack from NBC. That guy is everywhere!

AFTERPARTY:
The Park[ing] Day LA Wrap Party takes place @ 7 pm in Echo Park at Echo Lake, Logan Street and Park Ave, by the picnic tables. (north side of the park) The Echo Park Film Center will be hosting a ride-in movie screening at 7:30. Bring lawn chairs, refreshments, your friends and your Park[ing] Day LA stories. We'll be screening Contested Streets, some AlleyCat shorts and a classic surprise involving Triplets.

DON'T HAVE A PARK BUT WANT TO BE INVOLVED?
Julie of the Morning Night Cafe in Silver Lake (1523 Griffith Park Blvd. - Los Angeles, CA 90026-1049 (323) 664-8811) would like to build a park for locals to hang out, play chess and enjoy refreshments but she needs some volunteers to help her build the parks. Call Julie if you are looking for a park to join.

Echo Park Time Bank would like some help with materials (astroturf) so if you have any ideas or if you can contribute, give Autumn a shout at "echo park time bank"  <echoparktimebank@gmail.com>

PHOTOS & VIDEOS:
Please send us your photos and your videos in quicktime format (.mov) so we can post them on Facebook, YouTube and so Rebar can use them as well.

Here is a great writeup on Park(ing) Day, where it originated and basic guidelines: http://newmobilityagenda.blogspot.com/2009/09/parking-day-is-september-18th-2009.html

Have fun! Don't forget to hydrate, put on sunblock and we'll see you at the Echo Park Lake for the ride-in movies!
