Residential Graywater Systems - LADBS Information Bulletin

On July 30, 2009, the California Building Standards Commission adopted emergency residential graywater regulations, which added Chapter 16A (Part I) "Nonpotable Water Reuse Systems" into the 2007 California Plumbing Code. The regulations became effective on August 4, 2009.

The Information Bulletin has been issued by the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety (LADBS) to inform the public about the regulations,  explain their applicability and permit requirements.

It can also be found at LADBS' website (www.ladbs.org).

Since the regulations were adopted using the emergency rulemaking process, the regulations may be revised in the coming weeks/months. This Information Bulletin will be updated if changes are made.
