MAYOR VILLARAIGOSA APPOINTS SEAN BURTON TO CITY PLANNING COMMISSION

LOS ANGELES - Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa today announced the
appointment of Sean Burton to the Los Angeles Planning Commission.
Burton is a three-time appointee to the West Los Angeles Area Planning
Commission - first in 2004 and most recently reappointed by Mayor
Villaraigosa in 2008 - where he currently serves as President.
"Sean will be a valuable addition to a team that is laying the
groundwork for the future of Los Angeles," Mayor Villaraigosa said.
"I hope that he will carry on the important work that we have done
in Los Angeles to - for the first time - do real planning that will
enhance the quality of life in our city of neighborhoods and connect
Angelenos to each other."

"I am honored that the Mayor has asked me to serve along side such a
distinguished group of commissioners," Burton said. "I look forward
to bringing my experience from the Area Planning Commission to help
build consensus on the important planning and policy issues facing the
City. I have an immense respect for the Mayor's vision for a greater Los
Angeles and look forward to being part of a team that will enable those
plans to touch the lives of Angelenos."

Burton is the President and Chief Operating Officer of CityView - an
institutional investor which manages over $740 million of public pension
fund capital for investment in urban housing for working families
throughout the United States.

Prior to joining CityView, Burton served as vice president of corporate
business development and strategy for Warner Bros., and at O'Melveny &
Myers, LLP as an attorney in the real estate and corporate groups.  He
also served in the White House and with the Democratic National
Committee during the Clinton Administration. Burton is a graduate of the
New York University School of Law and the University of California,
Irvine.

Burton actively participates in a wide range of community activities.
In addition to his service on the Area Planning Commission, Burton took
a leading role in advocating structural changes in the California State
fiscal and budgetary process when he was appointed by Governor Gray
Davis to sit on the California Commission on Tax Policy and the New
Economy in 2001.  Burton also serves as a Trustee of the John Thomas Dye
School and as a board member of the West Los Angeles Little League.

Burton's appointment is subject to confirmation by City Council.
