Please join the AIA/LA Urban Design Committee in a discussion about:
- DOT's Livability Initiative including DOT collaboration with HUD and EPA
- How the Obama Administration's emphasis on livability could benefit planning and design actions in LA
- How California SB 375 is being implemented and if it could be a good model for federal transportation and land use policies
Joining us will be Susan Herre, an architect and planner who works at the Federal Transit Administration in Washington D.C. In 2003, Susan completed her UCLA Master of Urban Planning final project on the integration of transit and land use, focusing on rail transit in LA. Since then, Susan has worked for FTA in the Office of Planning and Office of Engineering. She represents FTA in DOT's Livability Measurements Working Group, and represents DOT in the HUD EPA DOT Livability Measurements Working Group.
