Park[ing] Day LA Workshop

Park[ing] Day LA Workshop:

On September 5, 2009 @ 10 am, we will be hosting a Park[ing] Day LA Workshop on Santa Monica Blvd. We'll be using the Greensters to transpo supplies to the location (9am load-in, 9:30 ride, 10am arrival) where we will install a simple and basic temporary park on the south side of SM Blvd.

10:00 am to 2:00 pm - Park[ing] Day LA Workshop

The location of the Park[ing] Day LA is right in front of the City of LA's Bureau of Street Field Operations Division. The East Hollywood Neighborhood Council has a simple message, "Why don't we turn this big storage yard into a PARK and store the "stuff" somewhere else!"

If you encounter any confusion or puzzled looks as you promote Park[ing] Day LA, this is the time to invite them to come and join us as we build a simple park and create community, all on Santa Monica Blvd. (just two blocks east of the Red Line Station) We'd love to have you all join us!

Park[ing] Day LA Press:

CityWatchLA will run Friday articles, starting tomorrow, on the different Park[ing] Day LA events and installations and celebrations. East Hollywood's "Rec Center" on Heliotrope is first up, followed by the Greensters' "Load[ing] Zone" mobile parks and then DLANC's in "ReClaim[ing]" in Harlem Alley. As soon as you have something to promote, send me your event, your message, your location, your partners and we'll get some rhythm going with weekly features.
