Union Station Master Plan (USMP) "MEET AND GREET" January 17, 2012 (2:30pm)

Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro)

   Union Station Master Plan

“MEET AND GREET”

Metro will be hosting a “Meet and Greet” networking session on January 17, 2012 at the Metro Headquarters Building, One Gateway Plaza, Los Angeles, CA 90012. Interested Small Business Enterprises (SBEs) wanting to meet the six firms that were short-listed on the Union Station Master Plan (USMP) should attend this event. The meet and greet session will begin at 2:30 PM, just after the USMP’s pre-proposal conference. It is highly recommended for Metro-certified SBE subcontractors that provide architectural, real estate services, management consulting and engineering related services seeking to participate on this project to attend this event.

The primary Union Station property (“Property”) is a +/- 40 acre parcel located

immediately east of the Los Angeles Civic Center.  Included within the Union Station

property is Union Station itself, 140,000 square feet constructed in 1939 and it is listed

on the National Register of Historic Places. Union Station serves as a multi-modal

facility and houses operations of Amtrak, Metrolink commuter rail, regional and local bus

service, and Metro subway and light rail operations.

Metro is seeking a development vision and comprehensive Master Plan for the Union Station

property. The USMP will guide land use and development on the site, inclusive of transit operations

and private and/or public ground lease development opportunities, and will offer a detailed

implementation strategy that includes design guidelines, financing and governance options,

and a phasing strategy.

An RSVP is required for the “Meet and Greet” by January 9, 2011, to Sonya Turner at: turners@metro.net
