400+ letters OPPOSE SB974

 BizFed leaders,

YOUR voice is helping to get the message across!

As you know, BizFed's Board voted in June to oppose SB974 – which would eliminate key incentives of California's Enterprise Zone program, including a tax hiring credit that is a crucial job creator.

BizFed and members including Valley Economic Alliance have sent letters to lawmakers urging opposition to this proposed legislation. Last week, Craig Johnson, president of the California Association of Enterprise Zones, said opposition to SB 974 has produced over 400 letters to state Legislators thanks to everyone's efforts including the California Chamber of Commerce Coalition, CEON, CAEZ and Friends of CAEZ.

An Assembly Committee on Jobs, Economic Development and the Economy hearing was postponed late last month so lawmakers can focus on the state budget – BUT movement is expected again in early August!

If you haven't yet written your letter of opposition to SB 974, do it NOW!

Attached is a BizFed letter you can use or adapt for your own outreach. Also, below, is contact information for the six members of the Assembly Jobs Committee. In addition, you can reach out to your Assembly leader by clicking here or here and typing in your ZIP code.
