Residential Planned Development "RPD" Districts

For your review and consideration, please find attached the public notice and draft ordinance for a proposed code amendment to revise the existing Residential Planned Development "RPD" Districts regulations (last updated in 1971) to enable innovative, mixed-use, and infill development projects as planned developments in the City of LA.

This is the third in a series of draft ordinances that are being updated in effort to streamline/ simplify the City's zoning code.  This upcoming planning staff  public hearing will be in Room 1070 of City Hall on Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at 1 pm.

If you have any concerns/ questions/ recommendations that you'd like for me to offer on behalf of AIA|LA, please contact me directly with your written comments.

We will have plenty of time to develop an official set of recommendations and/or letter of support, since the final day to submit comments is November 7, 2011.

As an FYI, If you have additional questions for Los Angeles Department of City Planning, you can reach Tanner Blackman directly either by e-mail at tanner.blackman@lacity.org or by phone at 213.978.1195.

On behalf of AIA|LA, I look forward to helping to shape this ordinance so that it strengthens our objectives for more design excellence citywide.

Very truly yours,
